EAGLEVILLE, Tenn. — The Eagleville Eagles boys basketball team enters the 2026 TSSAA Class 1A State Championship with an unblemished 31-0 record, marking one of the most dominant seasons in the program's history. Under Head Coach Davy McClaran, the top-ranked Eagles have demonstrated exceptional consistency, defensive discipline, and balanced scoring throughout the campaign. The Eagles secured their berth in the state tournament — their sixth appearance overall and first since 2019 — with a decisive 59-35 victory over Perry County in the Class 1A sectional round on March 9, 2026. Senior Camden Cole, a Mr. Basketball finalist, led the effort with 29 points, supported by double-figure contributions from teammates including James Bega. This win extended a streak that included an 8-0 district record and a Region 5-1A championship, highlighted by a 53-34 triumph over Richland.

The program's century-long history has seen limited deep postseason runs, making this undefeated march particularly noteworthy. The Eagles have emphasized team-oriented play, strong perimeter defense, and efficient execution, resulting in numerous double-digit victories and a perfect postseason record to date. The TSSAA Class 1A State Tournament, held at Middle Tennessee State University's Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, begins for Eagleville on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. CT. The Eagles will face Pickett County (30-4) in the quarterfinal round — a matchup against a formidable opponent that presents an immediate challenge to their unbeaten Eagles. A victory would advance Eagleville to the semifinals on Friday, March 20, with potential championship contention on Saturday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. CT. The bracket positions the Eagles to potentially meet winners from other quarterfinal contest. The sole remaining undefeated team in Class 1A entering the state field, Eagleville carries both momentum and expectations. The Eagles' focus remains on maintaining their disciplined approach one game at a time, with the opportunity to cap this historic season with a state title and etch their names in Eagleville High School lore.
